The book they are talking about is called "When languages die" by K. David Harrison. If you're interested in that kind of thing, but don't have the time or inclination to read the book (it's not very easy) the interview is good. For me, it's not just languages dying, but cultures dying, the death of the languages is just a symptom of a much bigger problem. Don't drink coca-cola, obviously.
