The eighties are back

The eighties seem to be back on the high street and in other places. There are discount stores everywhere, or empty shops, the kind of things I remember from my childhood. Hippies seem to be rising up again (good) and generally there's a kind of thatcherite feeling to the whole thing. I like it generally, I like the counterculture which seems to thrive in impoverished times. The only thing I regret is that it's under Gordon Brown because I like him and this gives ammo to his enemies. It remains to see if rave, or something approaching rave, comes back. Hope so. Fingers crossed.
