Punishment

I really don't believe in punishment in any way, not for anyone, basically in childcare or society more generally. I don't know if this is a common position to take, but I think about it quite a lot. I think it might be one of my core beliefs. People who disagree with prisons are called abolitionists, I tend to side with them from what I know about prisons which luckily isn't much. There are also some quite solid biological and psychological reasons to do with what is called negative reinforcement not to use it. Don't get me wrong, I admire people who can use worked-out discipline, but I'm not one of them.
