Green tomato chutney.
I inherited a lot of green tomatoes from a friend of mine who is going on holiday to India for a month, and a green tomato chutney recipe. I made it and it turned out to be delicious. Pictures and recipe below:
0.5 lb onions
0.5 lb sugar
1 tsp mixed spice
1 pint vinegar
Finely chop the tomatoes and onions and add the other ingredients. Bring to the boil and then turn the heat down and cook at a simmer for about two hours or until a thickish consistency has been achieved. Put in jars and leave to cool.
