So, we're well overdue for the fashion segment. I guess this is the summer issue, I know summer is probably well and truly over in this country but anyway, here you go.
Sunglasses are big news this year. With the advent of global warming they're not only a style item but also a basic necessity. Oval shaped, tortoise framed, or something like that. Coloured frames (ie red) can work but just be careful.
Big influences on clothes are Indian styles, jewelled colours and a fairly slaggy silhouette. Bright yellow, a very saturated lime green and turquoise are good colours to look out for. Think Elton John and Victoria Beckham throwing a Hawaiian themed party. Purple and baby blue are also winners. Interesting fabrics are making a comeback, especially crepe which is gorgeous but be careful of VPL. Lace is big according to the newspapers although I have to confess it's yet to make an appearance on any high street near me.
Body piercing seems to be pretty hot especially those big earrings that you stretch your earlobes with. Obviously this isn't a one season trend. Tattoos ditto, I've been seeing a lot of coloured ones around. Think about how it's going to fade and remember you can always get it touched up if it needs it. Individuality is a good buzzword, at the moment it's all about wearing things that you like and things that are comfortable.
I think autumn's going to be all about warmth and fabrics. My top tip is long scarves a la Doctor Who and corduroy.
Men, nothing has really changed. Plaid shirts, obviously, if you think you can carry them off. Go over the colour wheel again if you need to :-)
